Volunteer Taxi

The Volunteer Taxi serves residents in southwest Shaiwassee County (Laingsburg, Perry, Morrice and Shaftsburg) who do not have transportation of their own, or who may be in temporary need of a ride. This Taxi service is provided by LGCO Volunteers, who have had:

• Background checks
• A clean driving record
• Insurance on their own vehicles
• A desire to assist those who need this service

Transportation is provided mostly to the Owosso/Corunna area and the Greater Lansing area. This service is provided for things like:

• Doctor visits
• Trips to pick up medications
• Shopping
• Visits to see friends
• Other similar activities

At least 24 hours advance notice is recommended for scheduling a ride. The more advance notice a request is received, the greater the chance we have of finding a driver that can provide a ride.

At the present time we are in the midst of a push to recruit more drivers so that we can expand the number of clients we can serve
